Silverado basketball blows fourth quarter lead, then rallies for win in final seconds

The Silverado High basketball team led visiting Coronado by nine points Wednesday in the fourth quarter of a key Southeast Division game, but faded down the stretch in surrendering a 15-4 scoring run to trail by four points with less than a minute remaining. Instead of hanging their heads, the Skyhawks pieced together a last-minute rally. The comeback started when Justin Johnson drained a contested 3-pointer to trim the deficit to one point with 38 seconds left. After Coronado failed to win the game at the free throw line on its ensuing possession, Silverado’s Jonathan Aman scored the game-winner on a layup with four seconds to play in a 53-52 victory.
